PREFACE I do not have any inclination or inspiration to make thewhole of world religious. Hinduism is a vast tree that nobody canbefall the age-old tree. It has survived onslaughts from Buddhism,Jainism, Islam and Christianity. I am not referring to physicalconversion of Hindu population. Brahmins in Vedic age stoppedanimal sacrifice and the founder of Buddhism, Gowtama Buddha isregarded as an incarnation of Mahavishnu! Hindus do not hate Jainswho worship the same Gods. They attend Urs of Muslim Saints. Theywatch the Christian movie Karunaamayi, (story of Jesus Christ) andshed tears. A true Hindu cannot hate any religious faith, for hefinds all these within his own religious fold, he has been exposedto the thoughts of other faiths since his birth! Hinduism is not atender tree that needs anybody's protection. It is for us to derivebenefits from the vast tree. Even if I want to add a new thought,it is not possible, as the same has already been exploredelsewhere! I do not believe in" spreading the Gospel to one andall". I know several highly placed officers who make their staffwrite religious, astrological and management topics for them whilethey are busy making black money in various ways. There is a sayingin Kannada, "Mantra helalikke, badanekaayi tinnalikke" [Mantras arefor telling others and brinjals for my eating]. One need not bereligious to talk religion! But, I searchedfor that in all book stalls, temples and such places. Letters tothe publisher did not produce any result. Later on, I came to know,he had stopped publication of such books, as the market is notencouraging! Some of my enlightened readers ask me to provide themcertain mantras, not readily available in the market. In India, wespeak many languages. Many people prefer to read mantras in theirrespective mother tongues. I believe, I would be of some help intheir spiritual progress. Hence, this publication.
